I love my job. I love watching clients have “aha” moments. I love celebrating clients' gains and watching their hard work pay off for them.

I find most clients want a therapist who will challenge them, say the hard truths, and expect to see change. I do all of these things because otherwise I’m not helping you.

Said another way: My therapy style isn't to validate everything you say and think. If that was working for you, you wouldn't be coming to therapy. My style isn't primarily about insight, either. Insight is a start, but it isn't enough. I am actively looking for therapy to result in changed behavior for you.

That said, I also believe in the power of empathy and kindness. I am trauma informed, have done my own work in therapy, and honor both the resilience and frailty of the human condition. We work at the pace that is right for you.

I draw from a variety of modalities, including motivational interviewing, existential therapy, solution focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, ACT, and others. If you’d like to know more about how I practice therapy feel free to take a look at my welcome letter.

I see individuals aged 18 and up. Common topics include depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, relationship issues, life transitions, recovery from abusive relationships, grief, loss, and spirituality. I am EMDR trained. I am also trained in ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), another trauma intervention. Read this article for a comparison of EMDR and ART.

Most of the time I have a waitlist, but please don’t let that discourage you. If you think you might want to be on my waitlist but aren’t sure, I offer a free 30 minute consultation (virtual, in person or by phone.) If you’re willing to wait for me, I think it’s only fair I give you a chance to be sure I’m worth waiting for.

I see couples on a short-term basis for the Symbis premarital assessment, the Prepare-Enrich marital assessment, and Discernment Counseling. Discernment Counseling is a 5-session therapy for relationships where divorce is a very real possibility. Contact me if you’d like to know more about any of these three services. They are the only services I am offering for couples at this time.

Contact me if you think we might be a good fit! I'd love to hear from you.
