Emilie Ruehs M.S. LMHC
I work together with each individual to identify strengths, interrelational patterns, and motivation for change. I believe in taking a collaborative, team approach that involves the client as an active participant in planning their own goals and developing their own treatment plan.

I see clients 12 and older with a particular focus on teens and young adults. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing suicidal ideation and self-harm/non-suicidal self-injury, with additional experience in depression, anxiety, body image, life transitions, and identity. I take a person centered, strengths-based approach to treatment and often incorporate aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into sessions.

I have spent several years previously working in case management and vocational rehabilitation with both students and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. While I do not practice ABA therapy, I have received training as a behavior technician and work with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities; actively utilizing behavior focused approaches to the therapeutic process in this setting.
